At the beginning of this year, we unveiled a major renovation of your beloved pub, The Orange. And while we spent a lot of time giving the place a new lick of paint (with the help of Edward Bulmer), tinkering with the menus (hello, breakfast flatbreads) and sourcing decor from local Pimlico artisans, we were also concocting new spaces for all to enjoy, and that’s why we created our new basement Blood Orange Bar. Whilst we love our traditional pub areas, we needed somewhere for slightly more elevated drinks. A place for after-work tipples, date nights, preprandials and nightcaps.
We know the Great British Summer hasn’t been Summer-ing of late, meaning, it’s not been ideal al fresco drinking weather. That’s where the Blood Orange Bar comes in, located in our basement vaults dating all the way back to the 1800s, when the pub was originally built, our new unique and elegant cocktail bar is serving up premium craft beers, fine wines and a curated selection of classic cocktails. As well as our house signatures, the Blood Orange and the Pimlico Paloma.
What’s more, if you get peckish and you don’t have a reservation upstairs, or just fancy staying put (who could blame you?) there’s a great bar menu including our famous wood-fired pizzas. Order one of each and share with workmates, or have one to yourself because Joey doesn’t share food.
On the weekends, we’ve also got live music and vinyl DJs, for added ambience. If the dance floor is more your vibe, well, we’ve got one of those too. There’s also a private area – dubbed The Vault – which is bookable for parties of any description, with the velvet curtain roping you off from the rest of the bar. There are screens in there too, if you want to host a private screening of whatever you fancy.
And rest assured if you really go for it, there’s always one of the boutique hotel bedrooms upstairs… and a breakfast flatbread waiting for you in the morning.
