If you’re planning a UK Christmas getaway, then there’s nowhere better than London. Ask any seasoned Londoner about what makes the capital so special during the festive season, and they’ll no doubt go all misty-eyed. That’s because there’s really nowhere quite like London at Christmas. There are Christmas lights displays on London’s most famous shopping streets, including Oxford, Regent and Carnaby Street. Then there’s the pop-up ice rinks, the Christmas markets with their mulled wine and pretzels, Winter Wonderland. People say hi to each other on the Tube. Ok that last part was a lie, but love it or loathe it, there’s no denying that the capital comes over all Richard Curtis in December.
Experience the Magic of Christmas in London Pubs: Cosy Fires, Mulled Wine and Festive Feasts
Enjoy London’s seasonal magic in our London pubs, with their crackling fires, steamed-up windows and mulled wine bubbling at the bar. There’s even something especially romantic about peeling off ALL your layers after battling the elements outside to be greeted by the cosy warmth of the pub. When you throw in a generally joyful-it’s-Christmas-atmosphere and seasonal pub fare (mince pies and baked camemberts, anyone?), you’ve got yourself a surefire recipe for a great night out.
Stay the Night
Experiencing a Christmas pub in London is a must for everyone – locals and tourists alike. What’s even better is staying in one, too, which you can do at three of our favourite pubs: The Princess Royal in Notting Hill, The Orange in Belgravia and The Grazing Goat in Marylebone. Each has a handful of boutique hotel-style bedrooms, with big comfy beds, 100 Acres toiletries and Instagram-worthy interiors. Plus a 12-step commute to the bar. Our pubs also offer incredible breakfasts – another excuse to stay.
Book Your StayPrivate Parties
Of course, ‘tis the season of the Christmas party, too, and we’ve got you covered there as well. Those who live and work in London should consider one of the pubs for their Christmas celebrations – whether that’s an official or unofficial soirée. Each of the pubs has a selection of intimate, cosy private rooms which can cater to groups of any size – whether that’s a work shindig for 40 in The Main Dining Room of The Thomas Cubitt or an annual check-in with long-lost loved ones in the Charlotte Room at The Princess Royal.
Book Your PartyIn the market for a bar to take over instead? Look no further than The Blood Orange Bar at The Orange, one of our newest speakeasy style spaces, with room to dance and a brilliant blood orange margarita… just saying.
While Cubitt House pubs are not open on Christmas day, we are open for all other celebrations this year and can’t wait to welcome you.
Christmas Menus
You know the drill now when it comes to Head Chef Ben Tish’s menus and our festive feasts are no different, bringing the best of British ingredients to the table. Focusing on local suppliers and the best seasonal ingredients, you can enjoy a true festive farm-to-fork feast. With five different menus to choose from depending on how hungry (and thirsty) you are, there’s something for every appetite – with dishes including a roast bronze turkey (or goose), whole baked turbot, venison carpaccio, baked scallops and rib of beef.
Book Your TableDon’t forget the seasonal bolt-ons, too, like mince pies, a Neal’s Yard cheese board, smoked salmon and soda bread or Christmas pudding. Oh, and we’ve naturally got the vegetarians covered too, with a celeriac, beetroot and Montgomery cheddar pie. And for those going all out there’s our Full Festive Feast including all the very best of the menu as well as a dedicated party planner and a bottle of wine per person. Yes, you read that correctly.
Suffice to say, we can’t wait to welcome you to the pubs this festive season!
